MIDRAND, South Africa – 18 March 2020 – Tiger Wheel & Tyre, Southern Africa’s leading retail wheel and tyre fitment chain, today announced that it has implemented heightened hygiene protocols at all its stores throughout Southern Africa, in a bid to do its part in preventing the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The company has engaged store managers and employees and equipped them with the necessary tools and information to implement heightened hygiene protocols in all high-contact areas throughout stores. In addition, Tiger Wheel & Tyre has rolled our emergency kits consisting of manual hand sanitiser dispensers and sanitising spray.
“For the safety of our customers and employees, the key to minimising the risk of spreading COVID-19 is to clean all high-contact areas both deeply and frequently,” said Farishta Singh, TiAuto Marketing Executive. “South Africa and the world stands on the brink of what could be our greatest triumph or our cruelest tragedy. How that plays out will come down to how we handle the situation now. I believe we’ll ultimately look back on this and realize it was the little things that made the biggest difference – washing door handles and cleaning countertops, keeping our (social) distance, and washing our hands, over and over again – and the speed with which we manage the situation.”
On that note, Singh said Tiger Wheel & Tyre employees are fully committed to practice good hygiene, with frequent and thorough handwashing, and has instructed those who are sick to stay home. In addition, employees who have a fever or who become sick while at work will immediately be released and guided to seek appropriate medical attention.
“Right now, there is nothing of greater or more pressing concern to us than the health and wellbeing of our customers and employees. It is our number one priority, and we’ll work tirelessly to provide as clean and safe an environment as possible, for their safety as well as their peace of mind,” Singh concluded.
