Treading to greater heights: TrenTyre attains Level 1 B-BBEE Contributor Status

The TrenTyre Directors are delighted to announce that the transformation strategy implemented in the Company paid off.   The all-female board of directors in TrenTyre viewed this milestone as an outstanding and overwhelming achievement and want to announce that TrenTyre is now a B-BBEE Level 1 Contributor confirmed by the three directors Ria Bronkhorst, Nonkosi Dyantyi & Fikile Thabethe.

“We reviewed our transformation strategy within all the elements of the B-BBEE scorecard and adopted a people-centred approach to impact transformation at a faster pace. The strategy encompassed focused initiatives for our employees via our Employee Trust to benefit them by offering bursaries, study assistance, skills development, enterprise development as well as socio-economic development initiatives in the communities which TrenTyre operates.  Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) continue to be a key focus for TrenTyre” said Ria Bronkhorst, Chairperson of the board.

“The skills development plan is actioned through the TrenTyre Academy initiatives with the focus on programs for unemployed youth and people with disabilities, upskilling our employees within the workplace by means of succession planning and career guidance,” stated Bronkhorst. 

“The focus for enterprise development and supplier development initiatives which was identified in the company to ensure long term development of small and medium enterprises comprising of black female, youth and black owned companies to ensure it is a win-win situation for the Company and suppliers,” said Charl White.  

“As a service-driven and multi-branded retailer, we offer end-to-end solutions for fleets and mines, and by providing the required levels of compliance in B-BBEE, we are now in the position to offer customers a 135% procurement recognition benefit, as well as compliance to the Mining Charter. By this we are affirming our position as one of the leaders in the market,” concluded Charl White, Operations Manager.
