TrenTyre’s efforts and commitment to transformation and economic development have once again seen the company retain the coveted B-BBEE Level 1 contributor. This is a second consecutive year that the company has achieved this accolade.

This is a culmination of our commitment and strategy implementation which focuses on addressing the key elements outlined in the B-BBEE scorecard, they say. “As a service-driven and multi-branded retailer, we are very much focused on enterprise and supplier development particularly in rural communities. We have also ensured we create an environment that accommodates Black-owned small businesses including those owned by Women to ensure their long-term sustainability,” says Head of TrenTyre, Shane Petersen.

Skills development also remain key to the success of the TrenTyre business where learners with disability are taken through a skills programme and subsequently provided with workplace experience with some attaining permanent employment within the company’s operations. The company also continues to roll-out a solid Corporate Social Investment programme which centres on providing opportunities for the underprivileged population. TrenTyre is proud to continue setting the standard amongst its counterparts.

“We are very proud that all our efforts to furthering the imperatives of B-BBEE and transformation have once more yielded these positive results. We remain mindful that, while we celebrate this massive achievement, a lot of huge strides still need to be taken to balance the playing field within our operating environment”, Petersen concludes.
