Although training takes place with Hunter equipment and technology, students can apply what they’ve learned in any environment.
Hunter Engineering will introduce Hunter University to attendees at the SEMA show in Las Vegas, held from Nov. 5-8. According to Hunter, Hunter University is a new global learning platform designed to provide accessible training for customers, technicians, technical school instructors, students, and other interested parties. Hunter will demonstrate the platform in South Hall Lower, booth #42017.
Hunter University consolidates Hunter’s existing learning content, offering free online courses worldwide and streamlined registration for hands-on, in-person courses at training centers across the United States, the company said.
“Given the industry’s critical need, we recognize our responsibility to help train current and future technicians,” said Hunter Field Development Director Tom Settle. “Hunter University makes it easy to select training in the way that suits each person best.”
All existing content was updated and refreshed during a nine-month effort, converting from PowerPoint presentations to shorter, dynamic modules with narration and video, Hunter said. The online courses are generally presented in five-minute segments, allowing a 10-module course to be completed in approximately one hour.
According to Hunter, the online courses are accessible internationally and available in 21 languages. The course catalog covers numerous automotive service topics, providing a foundation of concept theory before concluding with hands-on training.
Although training takes place with Hunter equipment and technology, students can apply what they’ve learned in any environment, Hunter said. Popular courses include Introduction to Alignment, HunterNet 2 Tools and Uses, and ADAS Overview.
Extended in-person training led by ASE-certified instructors is available at more than 50 training centers nationwide, according to Hunter.
