As part of a visit to Goodyear’s South Africa operations, Richard Kramer, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company based at the Goodyear headquarters in Akron, Ohio, officiated the ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Hi-Q Bryanston store on Friday, April 27. Kramer was accompanied by Goodyear South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, Group Managing Director, Darren Hayes-Powell, members of his leadership team and the franchisees.
Hi-Q Automotive (Pty) Ltd is a franchise management company that is wholly owned by Goodyear. Hi-Q has been a trusted tyre fitment centre in South Africa for 19 years. It has enjoyed the status of being voted the number One tyre retail outlet in South Africa for eight consecutive years.
“Hi-Q Bryanston at Grosvenor Crossing is the first of its kind and expresses Hi-Q’s direction for the future. Hi-Q captures the essence of a successful multi-product, multi-brand tyre network, supported by innovative products and great service,” said Sean Harrison, Hi-Q Director.
Hi-Q Bryanston belongs to two franchisees, Leon Jonker and Rajesh Inderjeeth.
The new store embraces a contemporary design and affirms its position as a destination retail experience. “We want to make Hi-Q Bryanston the first choice for customers’ tyre needs. We have created a clean, minimalistic store to create a welcoming environment and to showcase our diverse product offering” said Inderjeeth
Jonker has been in business for 23 years and has held various leadership positions as well as owned his own business. He opened his first branch, Hi-Q Watermeyer, in 2012 and is currently the Chairman of the Hi-Q National Council.
Inderjeeth holds a BCom Management degree with certificates in Leadership & Management Development. He has eight years’ Private Banking experience in Sales, Operations and Risk. He opened his first branch, Hi-Q Midrand, in 2013.
