Vat increase relief for motorists

News from Tyre Distributors in South Africa Southern Africa

With everything seemingly going up and consumers having to dig deeper into their pockets to get by, any specials, discount vouchers, sale and bargain buys are what everyone’s is looking for – and rightfully so if one really needs to make ends meet in the current economy.

“The increase in VAT to 15% combined with the recent hike in the petrol price has created a cash crunch for consumers. At times like this, people often feel they must economise on occasional purchases, like tyres — but that’s a false economy,” Desirée van Niekerk, Brand Manager at Supa Quick explains.

Until 17 August 2018, Supa Quick will be offering a 15% discount on selected Bridgestone or Firestone tyres. Van Niekerk says the promotion is aimed at helping consumers deal with the recent VAT and petrol-price increases – essentially consumers will pay 0% VAT on their purchases.

“By offering a 15% discount on selected tyres, we will effectively be paying VAT on the consumer’s behalf. We hope as many people as possible will take this opportunity to purchase high-quality tyres that will keep them safer—and last longer. Tyres are one area where you do not want to compromise.”

Van Niekerk explains that VAT is still payable on the discounted price offered on this promotion, which will be reflected on the invoice. “The important point is that the inclusive price consumers will pay at the till will be 15% less than the regular price,” she says.

The promotion is available at all Supa Quick outlets nationwide, and covers the following tyres:
