Prague based Mitas, part of the Trelleborg Group has introduced a recently developed EX-01 radial tyre for wheeled excavators with a non-directional tread pattern and reinforced sidewall construction for dual mounting systems.

Jaroslav Musil, Mitas Product Manager for Material Handling & Construction tyres says, “Dual mounted tyres can often be damaged by stone ingress which at the moment is usually protected by rubber rings. However on our EX-01 tyre we have eradicated this problem by incorporating a reinforced sidewall that ensures close contact between the tyres to prevent damage.”

The EX-01 has been specifically designed not only for paved roads but also demanding crushed stone or gravel terrains and its all-steel construction guarantees greater stability and high puncture resistance. At the same time the unique radial construction increases the tyre’s lifespan whilst giving the operator a comfortable ride and low fuel consumption. The shaped shoulder also ensures an effective grip on soft surfaces and the thicker central tread improves stability and provides smooth running on hard surfaces.

The Mitas EX-01 tyre is currently available on a global basis in size 315/80R22.5 and for further information please visit www.mitas-tyres.com.
