Yokohama Rubber collaborating with Anlu authorities to target illegal manufacturers.
The Yokohama counterfeit wheel crackdown in China has led to the successful removal of unauthorized ADVAN Racing aluminum wheels, the company said. Yokohama Rubber filed an administrative complaint with authorities in Anlu City, Hubei Province, targeting a local manufacturer producing fake versions of its premium aluminum wheels.
Authorities acted on the complaint and searched the facility in November 2024. They seized all counterfeit ADVAN Racing wheels on-site during the raid.
Further Investigation Reveals Involved Parties
A follow-up probe identified the company that had ordered the counterfeit wheels. The Anlu Municipal Administration for Market Regulation ordered the manufacturer to stop production immediately. The company that placed the orders received fines and was forced to halt illegal activities and surrender any remaining counterfeit wheels.
This enforcement action is a significant step in Yokohama’s global anti-counterfeit efforts. It also sends a strong message to those involved in intellectual property violations.
Yokohama Counterfeit Wheel Crackdown is Part of a Larger IP Protection Initiative
This wasn’t Yokohama’s first case involving counterfeit aluminum wheels. The company had previously filed complaints against distributors selling unauthorised copies of its wheels in China. In each case, authorities helped eliminate the counterfeit stock from the market.
The Yokohama counterfeit wheel crackdown demonstrates the company’s commitment to protecting its brand and customers. Yokohama plans to strengthen efforts both in Japan and abroad to ensure customers can trust the authenticity of its products.
By pursuing intellectual property enforcement, the company continues to support the integrity and performance reputation of its ADVAN Racing wheels and other premium offerings.
