Goodyear has launched its new Eagle Hard LMGT3 tyre which made its racing debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Sao Paulo race on the 12th & 13th July being fitted to all LMGT3 teams. The tyre will be used at selected rounds later in the season.
The Eagle Hard LMGT3 is highly visually recognisable by its vibrant red sidewall lettering and builds on the previous success of Goodyear’s Eagle Medium LMGT3 tyre which was used at every race since the class launch eighteen months ago
Mike McGregor, Goodyear’s Head of Endurance Racing EMEA, explains, “Despite the success of the Eagle Medium tyre we are now able to introduce the Eagle Hard version which incorporates a stronger compound and has been designed to carry on the Eagle Medium’s consistent pace over the course of multiple races.”
Sao Paolo’s Interlagos circuit is considered by Goodyear to be the perfect location for the Eagle Hard to make its racing debut due to its tight corners, heavy braking zones and frequent elevation changes. Which will be followed by appearances at the WEC Circuit of the Americas in September and Bahrain in November.
