Under the partnership, Apollo Tyres will help shape academic content for the course, assist in developing the syllabus and prepare study material.

Apollo Tyres and the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) announced a partnership to introduce a specialised elective on tyre technology for engineering students. Under the partnership, Apollo Tyres will help shape academic content for the course, assist in developing the syllabus and prepare study material.

“This collaboration marks a significant milestone for the Indian automotive sector. We aim to equip young engineers with future-ready skills and real-world exposure,” said R Mahalakshmi, chief human resources officer of Apollo Tyres. “Students will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge tyre design, manufacturing and testing.”

“It is imperative that industry and academia work closely together to develop quality tech talent. We have a strong intellectual capital and talent base to partner with industry in bridging the talent gap and nurturing future-ready digital professionals,” said Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh, vice chancellor of KIIT-DU. “The introduction of co-branded specialisation, ‘Tire Technology’, will definitely give our students a new scope for innovation and edge over others.”

The partnership aims to provide access and exposure to tyre technologies and practical learning opportunities for students, Apollo said.
