The company developed the TerraGuard lineup to address larger and heavier implements, higher efficiency expectations and increased focus on soil preservation.
Mitas unveiled TerraGuard VF implement tires, marking the range’s global debut at Commodity Classic, Feb. 25-27 in San Antonio, Texas, booth 1271.
The company said it developed the TerraGuard lineup to address larger and heavier implements, higher efficiency expectations and increased focus on soil preservation. Engineers designed the tire for higher-capacity implements used both in-field and on the road.
Mitas TerraGuard VF Implement Tires Construction
Mitas TerraGuard VF implement tires use VF construction to carry high loads at lower inflation pressures. The design allows the tire to conform to ground contours and maintain a consistent footprint across uneven terrain. A square shoulder design maximizes the footprint and supports stability. Reinforced sidewalls enhance lateral stability, especially during road transport, Mitas said.
Tread Design and Efficiency Features
An optimized VF radial construction and tread geometry help reduce rolling resistance for smoother operation and energy efficiency. The tire distributes weight across a larger contact area to limit soil compaction. A sawtooth tread pattern balances rolling efficiency with controlled traction, stability, reduced vibration and reliability across cultivation tasks and conditions.
“Modern agricultural operations require implement tires that do more than simply carry weight,” said Roberta D’Agnano, marketing director for Mitas at Yokohama TWS. “With TerraGuard, we combined advanced VF technology with an innovative tread design that actively supports efficiency and soil protection, helping farmers boost productivity in demanding applications. Presenting this product for the first time at Commodity Classic is especially meaningful for us, as the U.S. market is at the forefront of large-scale, high-load farming applications. TerraGuard has been developed to meet the specific demands of American farmers, making this event the ideal platform for its global debut.”
Availability and Initial Size
The range is initially available in size VF 295/75R22.5 TL IMP 158D. Mitas plans to add additional sizes. TerraGuard is on display at the Mitas booth 1271 throughout the event.
