Yokohama Rubber said it aims to expand sales of its aircraft interior products by targeting aircraft manufacturers, airlines and aircraft maintenance companies.
Yokohama Rubber and its U.S. sales subsidiary, Yokohama Aerospace America, will participate in Aircraft Interiors Expo 2026 at Hamburg Messe in Hamburg, Germany. The three-day event begins April 14 and features aircraft interior products, related materials and technologies, with more than 450 exhibitors.
The Yokohama booth will showcase the company’s lineup of aircraft lavatory products. It will feature a prototype wheelchair-accessible lavatory unit and retrofit kits that can be installed in existing lavatories as an interior upgrade. The kits enhance the lavatories’ accessibility by upgrading both the flush switch and the faucet with touchless functionality.

Yokohama Aerospace America History
In addition to being a global tire manufacturer, Yokohama Rubber is one of Japan’s aerospace products manufacturers. Since the 1980s, the company has manufactured and sold a range of products for commercial aircraft. That includes products like lavatory modules made from lightweight composite materials, potable water tanks, onboard stairways, thermal insulation materials and honeycomb structural components.
Yokohama Rubber has supplied approximately 17,000 lavatory modules for the Boeing 737 and 757 and continues to support those modules by supplying repair and replacement parts to the airlines using them. The company also offers custom-made replacement parts for airlines’ retrofit projects.
