Nokian Tyres was ranked 100th on Time magazine’s World’s Most Sustainable Companies 2026 list. Nokian Tyres said the sustainability recognition comes from an annual ranking compiled with research firm Statista.
The list evaluates thousands of companies worldwide and includes 750 companies.
“This is a great acknowledgment of our long-term sustainability work and motivates us to keep improving,” said Paolo Pompei, president and CEO at Nokian Tyres. “We want to enable drivers to make more sustainable tire choices without compromising on performance. Renewable and recycled materials and lower rolling resistance help cut tire lifecycle emissions, while rigorously tested tires improve grip and safety, especially in demanding weather conditions.”
Ranking Criteria Include Verified Commitments
The ranking criteria include verified sustainability commitments. Those include UN Global Compact membership and greenhouse gas emission reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative.
The ranking also considered performance in ratings by organizations such as CDP and MSCI. The ranking assessed companies for sustainable business practices, transparency, and environmental and social stewardship.
“Proactive sustainability measures also benefit our customers: responsible sourcing reduces risks, and innovative, high-performing tires with lower environmental footprint make it possible for our customers to offer higher-value solutions to their own clients,” Pompei said.
